While 1866 was an Annus Mirabilis for Sir Isaac Newton, despite of supertitious beliefs by some that it would be a disastrous year, 1995 was for many a wonderful year because ground breaking discoveries of new objects in the sky were made. Those findings have stood the test of time because they are now 16 years old, a minimum age to obtain a driving permit in the US, and indeed they have driven many unexpected scientific discoveries and much welcome technical developments. A guided tour of the past, present and plausible future of this not so young field of Astrophysics will be given by one of the characters of the cast that acted on of that memorable year.
